Jeff Daniel () - version 1.2022.3.6
This seems like an okay tool for knowing yes or no it has permission. But after you know its green, it really fails explaining where the user is getting the permission from. What am I post to do with the Privilege ID? It would be nice if this tool broke down which security role is giving the user the highest rights and where from. Updating to author reply: Reason I'm not using OOB Access Checker, is because that feature seems to pick and choose when it appears on the nav bar. The unique issue I'm having is users being able to edit other people activity notes on a work order, even though security role specifically have them at user edit only. Think it a timeline bug.

Thank you for the feedback Daniel. May I ask why you are not using the OOB Access checker feature? It's now implemented directly in Model Driven apps so you should not need to use this XrmToolBox anymore? Unless you are OnPremise? Anyway, this is a good suggestion to show Roles that brings these privileges to user. I will see how to implement this.

I just pushed a new version that shows the role and the privilege of the user
Dan Garkusha () - version 1.2021.9.5
Works fine on most entities (Organization/Contact/Incident) Not working for activities (Note/Task/Email) - throws exception "Sequence contains no matching element"
Linn Zaw Win () - version 1.2021.8.3
Thanks to Carl Cookson for adding perfection to the tool by adding an additional functionality to provide an explanation of how access has been granted (e.g. user's security role, team's security role, access team, sharing, etc.)
Linn Zaw Win () - version 1.2018.7.2
It is useful for troubleshooting security access issues (especially in complex scenarios like team security role, access team, sharing, cascade sharing, share reassigned records with original owner, etc.) It is also useful in configuring the security role for finding out the positive and negative testing outcome by refreshing in the tool without actually logging in to that system with a test user and performing specific actions in the system to the particular record. The tool would be perfect if it shows which component(s) allow the user to have the specific privilege for that record. (e.g. user's security role, team's security role, access team, sharing, etc.)

Very helpful plugin, there is an issue when entity ownership is organization.
